
Jasmine Tea Gimlet
A floral twist on the classic gimlet—jasmine-infused gin, fresh lime, and a touch of elderflower create a cocktail that's fragrant, crisp, and dangerously easy to drink.
Gin and jasmine are a natural pairing—both are botanical, floral, and complex. Infusing gin with jasmine tea amplifies those shared notes, creating a spirit that smells like a moonlit garden.
The infusion time is critical: 2 hours maximum. Jasmine tea can turn bitter fast in alcohol, and you want the perfume, not the tannins. The gin will take on a pale golden color—that's your visual cue it's ready.
Fresh lime juice provides the acid backbone that every great cocktail needs, while a small measure of elderflower liqueur bridges the floral gap between the jasmine and the gin's botanicals.
For a non-alcoholic version, cold-brew jasmine tea with lime juice, elderflower cordial, and sparkling water over ice. It captures the same floral-citrus spirit without a drop of alcohol.
Ingredients
- 60 ml gin
- 1 jasmine green tea bag
- 20 ml fresh lime juice
- 15 ml elderflower liqueur
- 10 ml simple syrup
- Jasmine flower or lime wheel for garnish
How to make it
- 1Infuse gin: add jasmine tea bag to gin in a sealed jar for 2 hours. Remove bag and discard.
- 2Add jasmine-infused gin, lime juice, elderflower liqueur, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice.
- 3Shake vigorously for 10 seconds until well chilled.
- 4Double-strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- 5Garnish with a jasmine flower or lime wheel. Serve immediately.
