Iced Fu Zhuan with Honey and Chrysanthemum
Cold-brewed golden-flower Fu Zhuan with a touch of honey and dried chrysanthemum—a smooth, earthy-floral iced tea that's refreshing and gently sweet.
Fu Zhuan makes an unexpectedly graceful iced tea. Cold-brewing the brick draws out its smooth, earthy, golden-flower sweetness while leaving it entirely free of bitterness, giving a clear amber glass that is mellow and deeply refreshing.
Dried chrysanthemum is a classic Chinese partner for dark tea, and it shines here. Cold-infused alongside the Fu Zhuan, the flowers add a light, honeyed floral note that lifts the tea's grounded earthiness into something brighter and more aromatic.
Cold extraction overnight is the technique that makes it sing. The slow, cold steep coaxes a velvety smoothness and rounded natural sweetness from the golden flowers that you simply cannot get from hot-brewed-then-chilled tea, taming any heaviness into pure, clean flavor.
Finish with just a little honey and serve over plenty of ice for a hot day. It is a sophisticated, gently energizing iced tea—earthy and floral at once—that feels nourishing and pairs beautifully with savory snacks rather than reading as a sugary cooler.
