Iced Peppermint Lemonade Tea
Cold-brewed peppermint tea meets fresh lemonade for a caffeine-free cooler that's wildly refreshing and ridiculously easy to make.
This iced peppermint lemonade is the ultimate warm-weather drink—zero caffeine, maximum refreshment. The menthol in the peppermint creates a physical cooling sensation that goes beyond just drinking something cold.
Cold-brewing the peppermint tea is the secret. It produces a smoother, sweeter mint flavor without any of the bitterness that can come from hot-brewing herbal teas. Just drop the bags in cold water and let the fridge do the work overnight.
The lemonade component is kept simple—fresh lemon juice, a touch of honey or simple syrup, and that's it. The peppermint tea itself provides so much flavor that you don't need anything else.
Make a full pitcher and keep it in the fridge all week. It stays fresh for up to 5 days and actually improves on day two as the mint mellows. Add cucumber slices or a sprig of fresh mint for an extra-pretty presentation.
Ingredients
- 4 peppermint tea bags
- 3 cups cold water
- Juice of 3 lemons
