Iced Tulsi Lime Fizz with Honey
Cold-brewed tulsi shaken with fresh lime, raw honey, and sparkling water—an aromatic, herbal soda that cools and grounds in equal measure.
Hot tulsi is medicinal and warming; iced tulsi is something else entirely. Cold extraction pulls the clean, basil-like aromatics out without the peppery heat, leaving a smooth herbal liquid that begs for citrus and bubbles.
Lime is the right citrus here, not lemon. The slightly bitter, floral quality of fresh lime juice echoes tulsi's complexity, while lemon would flatten it into something more generic. Use real limes, freshly squeezed—bottled juice will not work.
The sparkling water is the magic. Adding it at the end, just before serving, keeps the carbonation lively and turns a flat iced tea into a proper herbal fizz. Don't stir vigorously after pouring—a gentle swirl is enough.
This is the drink for a hot afternoon when you want something more interesting than lemonade. The adaptogenic compounds in tulsi survive cold brewing intact, so you still get the calming, stress-balancing benefits in iced form.
