Iced Mango Green Tea with Coconut and Lime

A cold-brewed mango green tea finished with coconut water and fresh lime — a hydrating, tropical iced tea built for hot afternoons.

Mango green tea was practically made for the iced tea glass. Cold-brewing it overnight pulls out the tea's sweet, fruity aroma while leaving behind the slight astringency that hot brewing can introduce, resulting in a smoother, more fragrant drink.

Topping the cold brew with coconut water instead of plain water adds a subtle, naturally sweet creaminess that deepens the tropical theme without adding refined sugar. It also makes the drink more hydrating, which is especially welcome on hot days.

Fresh lime is essential — its acidity cuts through the mango's sweetness and keeps the drink tasting bright and refreshing rather than syrupy. A few slices muddled gently into the glass release even more citrus oil.

This is the kind of drink found at beach bars and juice stands across Latin America and Southeast Asia: simple, bright, and built entirely around the natural sweetness of mango rather than added sugar.

Ingredients

  • 2 mango green tea bags or 2 tbsp loose leaf
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 lime, sliced into rounds
  • 1/2 cup fresh mango, cubed
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint leaves for garnish

How to make it

  1. 1Combine the tea bags or loose leaf with cold water in a pitcher. Refrigerate for 8–10 hours (or overnight).
  2. 2Strain out the tea leaves. Stir in the coconut water.
  3. 3Fill glasses with ice. Add a few lime rounds and mango cubes to each glass.
  4. 4Pour the tea over the ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving.
