Mango Green Tea Rum Punch

Cold-brewed mango green tea shaken with white rum, lime, and passionfruit syrup — a bright, tropical punch built for warm-weather evenings.

Mango green tea brings natural sweetness and tropical aroma to this rum punch, meaning you need very little added sugar to get a balanced, fruit-forward cocktail. The green tea base also adds a faint vegetal backbone that keeps the drink from tasting one-dimensionally sweet.

Cold-brewing the tea ahead of time is key — it produces a smoother, less astringent base than hot-brewed tea cooled quickly, which can taste flat or slightly bitter once chilled and shaken with citrus.

White rum keeps the tropical theme front and center, while a small amount of passionfruit syrup adds tartness and an extra layer of fruit complexity that complements rather than competes with the mango.

For a non-alcoholic mocktail version, simply omit the rum and add a splash of soda water for fizz — the cold-brewed mango green tea, lime, and passionfruit syrup are flavorful enough to carry the drink entirely on their own, making this an easy one to batch for mixed gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml white rum
  • 90 ml cold-brewed mango green tea
  • 20 ml fresh lime juice
  • 15 ml passionfruit syrup
  • Splash of soda water
  • Lime wheel and mango slice for garnish
  • Ice cubes

How to make it

  1. 1Cold-brew the mango green tea ahead of time: steep 1 tbsp loose tea in 1 cup cold water for 8 hours, then strain.
  2. 2Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the rum, cold-brewed tea, lime juice, and passionfruit syrup.
  3. 3Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until well chilled.
  4. 4Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. 5Top with a splash of soda water and garnish with a lime wheel and a slice of fresh mango.
