Cold-Brew Mao Feng with Cucumber and Pear
A crisp, cooling cold brew of Huangshan Mao Feng with cucumber and pear—smooth, naturally sweet, and endlessly refreshing on a warm day.
Cold-brewing is the gentlest way to enjoy a delicate green like Mao Feng. Steeping the leaves slowly in cold water draws out their sweetness and orchid aroma while leaving behind almost all bitterness and astringency.
Cucumber and pear are ideal partners here. The cucumber adds a cool, garden-fresh note while the pear lends a soft, natural sweetness that echoes the tea's own gentle character.
Patience is the only real ingredient. A long, slow steep in the refrigerator—six to eight hours—produces a remarkably smooth, clean cup that needs little or no sweetener.
Serve over plenty of ice with extra cucumber and pear slices floating in the glass. It is a clean, hydrating refresher that keeps a focused afternoon feeling light and unhurried.
