Cardamom Rose Mocktail
A non-alcoholic, soda-topped mocktail built on cardamom syrup and rose water — fragrant, calming, and built for a slow, caffeine-free evening.
Because cardamom tea is entirely caffeine-free and naturally calming, this cocktail slot goes fully non-alcoholic — a mocktail designed for winding down rather than waking up. It's built around a homemade cardamom syrup, which concentrates the spice's warmth far more effectively than steeping a single cup.
Rose water is the second pillar of this drink, and it's a deliberate nod to the Middle Eastern and South Asian dessert traditions where cardamom and rose appear together constantly — in kulfi, gulab jamun syrup, and rosewater-scented rice puddings. The two aromas were made to share a glass.
Soda water provides lift and effervescence without adding sweetness or alcohol, keeping the drink light and sippable rather than syrupy. A few drops of Angostura bitters at the end add complexity if you want it, though the mocktail stands fine without them.
Serve this in the evening as a calming, fragrant ritual — in a coupe or highball glass with a cardamom pod or rose petal floated on top, it looks and feels like a proper cocktail while staying completely alcohol-free and caffeine-free.
