Bedtime Sleep Blend Golden Milk

Our sleep blend (chamomile, lemon balm, lavender) brewed into warm oat milk with honey and a whisper of nutmeg—a caffeine-free golden milk that gently signals your body it's time to rest.

Golden milk traditionally features turmeric, but for a bedtime drink turmeric's gentle stimulating warmth isn't quite right. Swapping in our sleep blend (chamomile, lemon balm, and lavender) keeps the comforting warm-milk format while leaning fully into relaxation.

Each herb pulls its weight: chamomile provides apigenin, the compound most studied for sleep support; lemon balm contributes rosmarinic acid for nervous-system calm; lavender offers linalool, the aromatic compound behind its restful reputation.

Steep the blend directly in warm (not boiling) oat milk for a creamier, richer drink than water-based brewing. The fats in oat milk help extract lavender's aromatic compounds and round out chamomile's natural sweetness.

Drink it 30–45 minutes before bed, in a quiet space with dim lighting. The combination of warmth, mild sweetness, and the calming aromatics works as a sensory cue that the day is winding down—turning a simple drink into a sleep-friendly ritual.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sleep blend (chamomile + lemon balm + lavender; or 2 tea bags)
  • 1 cup oat milk (or any milk you prefer)
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

How to make it

  1. 1Warm the oat milk in a small saucepan over low heat until steaming—do not let it boil.
  2. 2Add the sleep blend, cover, and let steep off the heat for 6–8 minutes.
  3. 3Strain through a fine sieve into a mug, pressing the herbs gently to release the last of the flavor.
  4. 4Stir in honey, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla (if using). Sip slowly with the lights low.
