Keemun Morning Focus Tonic

Keemun's moderate caffeine and naturally smooth body make it a wonderful tea to start the day. This tonic keeps the leaf at the center, adding only a few supporting flavors to round out its cocoa and floral notes into a gently invigorating morning cup.
A little honey softens the wine-like depth, while a squeeze of lemon brightens the aroma and a pinch of cinnamon adds warmth. Together they highlight Keemun's refinement rather than masking it.
The key is a careful steep: Keemun rewards hot water just off the boil and around three minutes of brewing. Over-steeping can dull its delicate aroma, so taste as you go and remove the leaves promptly.

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp loose Keemun tea leaves (or 1 tea bag)
- 250 ml hot water (around 95°C)
- 1 tsp honey
- 2 thin slices fresh lemon
- 1 small cinnamon stick (or a pinch of ground cinnamon)
- 1 thin slice fresh ginger (optional)
- 1 strip orange peel (optional)
- A few drops of vanilla extract (optional)
How to make it
- 1Warm your cup or small pot with a little hot water, then discard it.
- 2Add the Keemun leaves and the cinnamon stick, and pour over the hot water just off the boil.
- 3Steep for about 3 minutes, then strain out the leaves to keep the cup smooth.
- 4Stir in the honey while warm, then add the lemon slices and optional ginger, orange peel, or vanilla.
- 5Taste and adjust the honey or lemon to your liking, and serve hot.
