Dragonwell Ginger-Honey Morning Elixir

A gentle morning tonic blending Dragonwell's nutty sweetness with fresh ginger and raw honey—warming, clarifying, and full of antioxidants.

Dragonwell is loaded with catechins and L-theanine, making it one of the best teas for a calm, focused start to the day. This elixir wraps those benefits in a warming ginger-honey hug that feels medicinal without tasting like it.

Fresh ginger brings gentle heat and aids digestion, while raw honey adds sweetness and its own antimicrobial properties. Together with the tea's clean, chestnut-like base, the flavors are harmonious and grounding.

Brew the Dragonwell at 80°C—too hot and you'll scorch the delicate leaves, losing their signature sweetness and turning the cup bitter. Patience here pays off enormously.

Sip this slowly before breakfast. The L-theanine promotes calm alertness rather than jittery energy, and the ginger settles the stomach. It's the gentlest possible way to wake up your system.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp Dragonwell loose leaf tea
  • 1 cup hot water (80°C)
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • Thin lemon slice (optional)

How to make it

  2. 2Pour hot water over the leaves and steep for 2 minutes. Strain.
  3. 3Add freshly grated ginger to the strained tea. Let infuse 1 minute.
  4. 4Let cool slightly (to about 60°C), then stir in raw honey. Add a lemon slice if desired.
  5. 5Sip slowly on an empty stomach for best results.
