Strawberry Green Tea with Mint and Lime

Strawberry green tea steeped at 80°C with crushed mint, a squeeze of lime, and fresh strawberry slices — naturally sweet, light, and easy to drink all day.

Strawberry green tea already tastes naturally sweet and fruity, which makes it an easy base for a low-effort drink — no need to add much beyond a little brightness and texture. This cup leans on fresh mint and lime to lift the strawberry aroma and turn an everyday cup into something that feels like a treat without added sugar.

Let the tea cool a little before adding the lime: citrus dropped into very hot tea turns harsh. A short steep — the catalog's 2½ minutes at 80°C — also keeps bitterness low so the strawberry note stays front and center.

Sipped through the morning or early afternoon, this is an easy cup for anyone who finds plain water boring. The green tea base sits at level 2 on our 0–3 caffeine scale, the same bracket as sencha, so it belongs to the first half of the day.

For an after-meal version, skip the lime and let the tea cool to room temperature — mint and strawberry alone make a light, sweet finish to lunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 strawberry green tea bag or 1 tbsp loose leaf
  • 1 cup hot water (80°C)
  • 4–5 fresh mint leaves, lightly crushed
  • Juice of 1/4 lime
  • 1 tsp honey (optional)
  • 2–3 fresh strawberry slices

How to make it

  1. 1Steep the strawberry green tea in hot water for 2½ minutes, then remove the tea bag or strain the leaves.
  2. 2Add the crushed mint leaves to the warm tea and let infuse for 2 more minutes.
  3. 3Stir in honey if using, then let the tea cool slightly.
  4. 4Add lime juice and fresh strawberry slices just before drinking.
  5. 5Serve warm, or pour over ice for a cooler version.
