Fifty years of selling tea in the same city shows in the shelf: the everyday Alishan at the price of a lunch, and behind it the Dayuling, the Oriental Beauty and the aged oolongs for when someone asks for more.

Ever Trust Tea, 長信名茶, was founded in 1971 by Huang Tian-yong and describes itself as a fifty-year Kaohsiung tea house. Its flagship store is at No. 476 Jianguo 1st Road in Sanmin District and opens every day of the week from 10:00 to 21:00. The name, the brand story says, comes from a belief the founder inherited from his father: that trust is built slowly and kept for a long time. Alongside the shop runs a web store that ships across Taiwan.

The range is Taiwanese first: Alishan, Shizhuo, Shanlinxi, Lishan, Huagang and Dayuling oolongs in 75 g and 150 g vacuum packs, Dong Ding, a winter Wenshan Baozhong from Pinglin, Oriental Beauty, a red oolong from Luye and aged oolongs from 1979 and 2011. The black teas come in 100 g: Sun Moon Lake, Ruby No. 18 and a Lishan bud black. There is also a box of Yunnan ripe pu-erh mini cakes, pyramid tea bags, gift boxes and teaware.

Two things set the house apart from a plain tea counter. It publishes a pesticide-residue test report for its teas every year, from 2020 to 2025, on its own website, and it lists the competition awards it won between 2018 and 2021. It also makes custom and corporate gift boxes and supplies commercial and high-mountain tea in volume, which is why the same shop serves a family buying 150 g and a restaurant buying by the catty.
