Nan Yi Tee

Nan Yi Tee has been at Westfälische Straße 66 in Wilmersdorf since 1982 and describes itself as a traditional Berlin tea specialist with an online shop. The hours are the shortest on our Berlin page: Tuesday and Friday from 11:00 to 17:00, Wednesday and Thursday from 13:00 to 17:00, Saturday from 12:00 to 15:00, and closed on Mondays, so a visit takes a little planning. The catalogue is organised the way a Chinese tea house thinks: categories for old-tree Gushu pu-erh, for tea from the Tongmuguan core area of Wuyishan, and two lists of the owners' own favourites.

The labels do the talking. The Long Jing is No. 43 from the Gu Yu picking of 20 April 2025 in Zhejiang; the Ali Shan Jinxuan is the spring harvest of 20 April 2026 from the Chen family; the Dianhong is a Mingqian picking from early March 2024 in Yunnan. Alongside them sit a 2026 first-flush Gielle flight Darjeeling, a Nepal first flush from Shree Antu, a shaded gyokuro from Miyazaki, a Kagoshima houjicha and shu pu-erh sold as Lao Cha Tou nuggets, plus tuocha from 2005 and 2007. Most pure teas are priced per 50 g or 100 g.

For the curious there are 5 g tasting packs, such as a Keemun for 1,50 €, and sets that pair several teas, like the four classic Wuyi yancha in three grades or a duo of sheng and shu tuocha. White tea comes pressed into small cakes with jasmine, osmanthus or rose, and some aged pu-erh is sold by the piece. The online shop mirrors the shelves, with a sale section and a list of 2026 novelties, but the reason to walk in is to have the harvest dates explained by the people who chose them.
