Open Luna Tea
A family tea brand from Obarrio with its counter inside the Bóveda Natural shop: its own blends, Japanese teas and matcha in 30 to 50 g, ready for pickup the same day.
Not a tea house but a tea counter, three blocks past the Santuario Nacional, with the one chai in Panama that is built from whole spices and a hojicha from Kagoshima nobody else in the city sells.
Open Luna Tea began in the first year of Bóveda Natural, the wellness shop a Panamanian family created on Avenida Samuel Lewis in Obarrio, three blocks past the Santuario Nacional on the right-hand side of the main road, in a plaza next to FedEx, with parking and valet parking. The tea counter keeps the shop's hours, Monday to Saturday from 9am to 7pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm, and the brand has grown into a catalogue of close to a hundred products, from its own blends to teaware.
The shelf is small formats: 30, 40 and 50 g pouches, 30-bag boxes and matcha tins. An authentic Masala Chai costs US$ 7 the 50 g, a dark-roast Hojicha from Kagoshima US$ 15 the 30 g, a vanilla-fruit black tea and a butterfly blue pea US$ 9.90, and pure spearmint comes in a box of 30 bags at US$ 9.90; the brand also lists single-estate Darjeeling teas, a ceremonial and an everyday matcha, and chawan and chasen for whisking it, and runs matcha workshops in the city.
Online orders placed before noon are ready for pickup at Bóveda Natural the same day; delivery in the metro area goes by motorbike courier or Servientrega, and the interior is served through Uno Express, Fletes Chavale, Ferguson and Servientrega, with payment by Yappy, bank transfer or card. In a city whose two other tea counters are a mall kiosk and a Chinese tea house, this is the address for a spiced chai, a Japanese roasted green or a blue pea infusion in a bag small enough to try.
