Most Taiwanese tea shops sell you the mountains. This one also sells you the fields next door: a black tea and a Baozhong from Longtan's own contest.

Hefeng Tea is one shop and no branches, at No. 3 on Section 2 of Longgang Road in Zhongli, ten minutes on foot straight out of the rear exit of Zhongli station. The shelf is Taiwanese high-mountain oolong sold in 150 g vacuum packs: Alishan, Shanlinxi, Lishan, an Alishan Jin Xuan, a Si Ji Chun and a medium-roast Dong Ding. Around them sit a jasmine green in a tin, a 2026 Oriental Beauty in a 75 g tin and a 2011 ripe pu-erh cake. The shelf continues with aged teas, wood-fired teapots, trays and gift boxes.

The local pride is what Longtan grows. There is a small-leaf Taoying black tea from the Longtan Farmers' Association contest. Next to it, a Longquan Baozhong that took a prize in the 2025 contest, sold in 300 g rather than as a sampler. These are the teas that belong to this side of Taoyuan, and the reason to come to Zhongli instead of buying a Lishan anywhere else. The owner invites you to bring your own tea and set it next to the house's in evaluation cups, side by side. It is the oldest way of settling an argument about tea.

The shop opens daily from 10:00; Sundays are irregular and the house asks you to call before coming. In store it takes cash or bank transfer, not cards. Orders also go through the cart on its site, by phone, or over LINE and WeChat, with Black Cat delivery across the island and cash on delivery. The 2026 winter teas are arriving as they are finished, so the list moves with the season.
