A Friedrichshain tea dealer built around Japanese greens and single-garden blacks, sold by weight from 50 g up to a kilo.
Bohea prices everything per 100 g and then lets you scale it: half for a first taste, ten times for the whole year.
BOHEA Teehandlung is at Niederbarnimstraße 3 in Friedrichshain, open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00 and Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00. The site names its owner, Oliver Meier, and its resident tea man, Oleg Bogattke, and lists the range by origin: green tea from China, Japan and Korea, yellow tea, white tea from China, Darjeeling, Tanzania and Papua New Guinea, oolong from China, Taiwan and Indonesia, black tea from Assam, Darjeeling, China and Africa, jasmine teas, pu-erh and a small set of Japanese infusions such as roasted buckwheat sobacha.
The Japanese shelf is the deepest: several senchas by region, two gyokuros, kukicha, genmaicha in two grades and a yuzu kukicha. From China come Lung Ching, Pi Lo Chun, Tai Ping Hou Kui and a smoked Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong; from Taiwan a GABA oolong, a jade oolong and a cinnamon Dong Ding. The black-tea list leans on named Assam gardens, Halmari above all, and on Darjeeling flight teas whose 2026 first-flush lots are announced on the home page.
Every product page shows one price for 100 g and a size menu that runs 50, 100, 200, 250, 500 and 1000 g, with the price moving in proportion, so a 50 g trial pack is exactly half the listed figure. Shipping inside Germany costs 4,90 € below 40 € and is free above it, with flat rates for the rest of Europe, Switzerland, the UK and the United States. The one worth the trip
Sencha Makurazaki

A sencha named for Makurazaki at the southern tip of Kagoshima, one of the most expensive greens on the shop's Japanese shelf and the one that justifies the trip to Friedrichshain. It sits among two gyokuros, a kukicha and a genmaicha, all sold by weight, which makes this the corner of Berlin where a Japanese tea drinker can build a whole cupboard from open bins rather than sealed tins.
