Kaffelunden
A family tea and coffee shop on Danska vägen, open since August 2008, with about 200 loose teas to smell before you buy.
Out of the centre and worth the trip: two hundred tins, a chair for an espresso, and plain loose teas under 100 kr per 100 g.
Kaffelunden is a family business built around coffee, tea and chocolate. Its shop at Danska vägen 91 opened in August 2008, and visitors are invited to smell any of its roughly 200 loose teas, browse the teapots and porcelain, or sit down with a piece of chocolate and an espresso. The shop opens Wednesday to Saturday, with longer hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays; it is sometimes open on Mondays and Tuesdays too, and an email is the easiest way to check.
The teas are sold from 100 g, and the plain ones are priced low for the city: a Keemun FOP, a Sencha, a Kenya Milima GFOP, an organic Pai Mu Tan and a Ti Kuan Yin oolong are all under 100 kr per 100 g. The rest of the shelf runs to flavoured blacks, greens and rooibos, a white mulberry tea and seasonal blends, with Sara Miller tins and teapots from Plint to keep them in.
Next to the shop there is a web shop that sells across Sweden, and orders are usually packed and sent the same day. Kaffelunden also builds gift kits to a taste and budget, in the shop, by email or online, and takes larger orders from companies. For a first visit, smell three of the plain teas side by side and take home the one you keep going back to.
