Gothenburg buys its tea loose and by the 100 g, and most of it within a few blocks of Kungstorget: Thehuset has traded from the same premises since 1924, Josefin weighs tea inside Stora Saluhallen, and Tehuset Java, the Lund tea house of 1932, opened on Korsgatan in 2025. Across the canal, Tekultur on Andra Långgatan is a tea-only shop with hundreds of loose teas, Tea's i Haga sits at the top of Haga Nygata, and Kaffelunden on Danska vägen keeps about 200 teas on its shelves. A plain everyday black tea starts under 50 kr per 100 g; prices are in kronor, VAT included.

Every tea is listed on its website with a price per 100 g: an organic English Breakfast at 48 kr, Pai Mu Tan at 100 kr, Tie Guan Yin at 128 kr, Long Jing grade II at 138 kr, next to Korean, Nepalese and Thai oolongs. There is no web shop; orders can be sent by post after an email.

Loose tea comes in 50 and 100 g bags: an organic Earl Grey at 99 kr and Assam Tonganagaon at 135 kr per 100 g, Japanese Sencha Fukujyu at 115 kr, a Keemun Xiang Lou at 143 kr for 50 g, an organic GABA oolong at 110 kr for 50 g, and matcha at 265 kr for 30 g. Loose tea comes by the 100 g: an organic Tie Kuan Yin and an Assam FOP at 79 kr, organic Sencha and Japanese Genmaicha at 89 kr, and a ceremonial matcha at 699 kr for 100 g; the shelves also carry Kusmi Tea, coffee and gifts. Free tea samples come with every web order.
