MarketSpice traces its history to a small tea and spice shop established in Seattle's Pike Place Market in 1911, and the retail store is still at 85 Pike St, on the same market floor. The house blend is a black tea with cinnamon and orange, sold loose and in teabags, and the same flavour has been carried across green, white, rooibos and decaffeinated bases so customers can keep it in whatever tea they drink. Blends are made daily in small batches.
Behind the signature blend sits a bulk range of nearly 200 teas, sold from 4 oz up to the pound, and it keeps the plain classics as well as the flavoured ones. Earl Grey is 5,88 US$ the 4 oz and the cheapest tea on this list; Pure African Redbush is 7,24 US$, Lapsang Souchong 9,75 US$, White Peony 9,94 US$ the 2 oz, the Choice Oolong 12,69 US$ and Japanese Sencha 16,63 US$ the 4 oz, the highest price here.
The counter is a spice counter too, with bulk spices, blends grouped by region, salt-free mixes, soup bases, sugars, coffee and hot chocolate, plus infusers, teapots, mortars and caddies on the accessories wall. Gifts come as 3.5 oz ribbon packs and pre-made baskets. Mail orders ship from a warehouse in Redmond, where will-call pickup is also possible, while the Market store handles walk-in buying every day from 9:30 to 17:00.

Lapsang Souchong Tea
