Sample packets for one pot, a yoga room upstairs and teaware you can only buy in person: a shop built for the drive out, not the click.

Enchanted Creations Tea Shoppe is at 1559 Highway 15, on the east side of Kingston across the causeway from downtown, and keeps short hours: Wednesday to Saturday, 10 to 5. The owner, Wanda, is a tea sommelier with the Tea and Herbal Association of Canada and a certified herbalist, and the shop's identity is her blending; the site offers custom blends for events alongside the straight teas. Above the shop is the Zen Den Yoga Room.

The straight teas are sold in 50 g, 100 g and 150 g bags, and the green, oolong and white shelf is where the list is most precise: a Japanese Sencha and a Genmaicha, a West Lake Dragon Well, Jasmine Pearls, a Taiwanese Milk Oolong, an Oriental Beauty, a premium Taiwanese oolong and a White Peony, plus a ceremonial matcha sold from 20 g. There is also a 3.50 CA$ TEAser packet, enough for one pot, in black, green, rooibos and herbal, which is the cheap way to decide.

Teapots, cups and infusers are sold in the shop only, not online, and a monthly tea club is advertised on the site. Because the hours are short and the shop is out of the centre, check the day before you drive out; then buy a TEAser of two or three teas, and the 50 g of the Oriental Beauty, which is the one on this list that is hard to find elsewhere in town.
