TeeMaa Tea Shop & Tea House

TeeMaa is at Annankatu 19 in Kamppi, a tea shop with a tea house attached, run by Peng Luo and Xinyuan Sui, who came to Finland to study about a decade ago. Peng grew up in Anhua, in Hunan, the dark-tea county, and trained at the Changsha Art of Tea School in 2012; Xinyuan trained at the Zhengzhou Art of Tea School in 2014. The selection is sourced directly from producers in China, Japan and Nepal, and the house sells no artificially flavoured tea at all.

Packs are small, which is what makes the shelf easy to explore: a 2026 first-flush Darjeeling Risheehat and a Moonlight White at 25 g, a handmade Taiping Houkui at 20 g for €15, a Mi Lan Xiang dancong at 25 g for €12.70, a GABA oolong at 40 g for €12.80. Milky Oolong is €10 the 50 g, an organic shu pu-erh €13, an Assam Mokalbari second flush from €8.50, and Earl Grey and Lapsang Souchong €9.50 the 100 g. The Japanese side has an organic houjicha at €9 the 50 g and a ceremonial Uji matcha, Wafuu, at €25 the 30 g.

In the tea house everything is brewed gongfu style at the table, gyokuro is served susuricha style and matcha is whisked to a dense foam. The house runs public and private tastings, a tea school with classes on green tea, matcha, red tea and oolong, and kintsugi courses for mending ceramics, and in 2026 it is selling a thirteenth-anniversary dancong set.
