Chaidim Tea House is on Trimit Road, in Talat Noi, the old quarter by the river on the edge of Bangkok's Chinatown. It is a shop and a place to sit at the same time: there is free wifi, seats can be booked by phone, and the nearest parking is at The Quarter Hualamphong. The house is open from ten in the morning to five in the afternoon and closes on Sundays, so it suits a weekday walk through the neighbourhood rather than an evening.
The brand dates from 2014 and comes from a Thai company, E.L.F.B. (Thailand), which sources tea from Thai plantations and from China and Japan. The menu for drinking in mixes brewed teas such as Wuyi rock oolong and a smoked black tea with café drinks like a white chocolate matcha and an Earl Grey affogato. On the retail side it sells single tea bags, boxed collections, loose and large-leaf teas, gift sets, teapots and even its own clothing.
Most of the loose teas are sold in 250 g packs, which makes Chaidim a place to restock rather than to sample: a Bai Mu Dan white, a Tie Guan Yin, a jasmine green, Uji matcha and a plain rooibos. A few come smaller. The Four Seasons oolong and a 2016 ripe pu-erh called Blue Snake are sold by 100 g, and a seasonal Awakening black tea from the spring 2025 harvest in 50 g.
