Gong Mei Honey Ginger Comfort Tonic
A warming, low-caffeine tonic that pairs Gong Mei's mellow, fruity depth with honey and fresh ginger — a gentle after-meal sipper for easing into rest.
Gong Mei's fuller body and naturally low caffeine make it an easy base for an evening or after-meal tonic — it has enough character to carry honey and ginger without needing anything sharp or bitter to balance it.
Ginger adds a gentle internal warmth and pairs naturally with Gong Mei's own fruity, lightly woody notes, while honey rounds out the cup with a soft sweetness that echoes what already develops naturally as the tea steeps.
Brew this on the gentler side — water just off the boil and a few minutes of steeping — to keep the tea smooth rather than astringent, since Gong Mei's larger, more mature leaves can turn slightly brisk if oversteeped.
This tonic suits the digestion-comfort and wind-down part of the day: drink it after a heavy meal or in the early evening as part of a slow-down ritual. Its low caffeine means it is comfortable any time you want warmth and comfort without disrupting sleep.
