Tea Shop is a chain with shops across Europe, the same one that has a branch on our Alicante page, and in Lisbon it has two: one inside Armazéns do Chiado, at Rua do Carmo 2, and one in the Colombo shopping centre. The Chiado branch is open every day from ten in the morning to ten at night, which makes it an easy place in the centre to buy loose tea after work or on a Sunday.
Everything is sold by weight, from 100 g for most teas and from 50 g for the more expensive ones: black, green, oolong, white, pu-erh, rooibos, matcha and a long list of herbal and fruit infusions. Around the tea there are teapots, cups, infusers, matcha tools and a small gourmet section. The chain runs a loyalty card that adds a stamp for every ten euros spent, and an app for ordering.
The classics are all here. There is a Strong English Breakfast, an Earl Grey Superior, an Assam from the Maud estate and a first-flush Darjeeling on the black side; sencha, Japanese genmaicha and Jasmine Dragon Pearls on the green; a Milky Oolong from China; a plain pu-erh; and organic matcha in 30 g. It is not a shop for rarities, but it is a reliable place to find a known tea at a known price.
