Lisbon has a small, central loose-leaf scene: a tea shop in an old shoemaker's shop on Rua do Poço dos Negros that makes its own blends, the Chiado and Colombo branches of the Tea Shop chain, and an Azorean grocery in the Baixa that sells the teas grown on São Miguel. Prices below are in euros with VAT included, read on each shop's own site; most packs are 50 g or 100 g.

    A tea shop set up in an old shoemaker's shop from 1880 on Rua do Poço dos Negros, between Santos and São Bento, that makes its own blends with flowers, spices and fruit and keeps a serious single-origin list: an Earl Grey made with Portuguese bergamot at € 8 for 100 g, organic Qimen at € 12 and Sencha Fuji at € 13 for 50 g, Gyokuro and Da Hong Pao from 25 g, Milky Oolong at € 10 for 50 g and Pai Mu Tan at € 16 for 100 g.
