Teekult occupies Steinberggasse 21, in Winterthur's Altstadt and about five minutes on foot from the main station: tea shop on the ground floor, tearoom above it, café and bistro alongside. The shelves hold more than 250 teas plus teaware, porcelain, books, gifts and a few pieces of Chinese furniture. In January 2026 Eliane and Jono Brown announced that after eighteen years they were handing the business on; Milena Brotherwood, who had joined the team that same month, took it over at the start of July.
The black tea shelf runs from an organic Ceylon OP1 from Indulgashinna and a Kenya OP Superior at everyday prices to an organic second flush from the Jun Chiyabari garden in Nepal. Beside them sit a roasted Dong Ding and a milky oolong, a Uji sencha and an own-label ceremonial matcha in 30 g, Pai Mu Tan white, a shou pu-erh in mini tuo cha, chamomile and lavender by the 30 g, a Punjabi masala chai, half a kilo of Rosamonte yerba and, unusually, a Jun Shan Yin Zhen yellow tea.
Since July 2026 the café and bistro have been open Monday to Saturday, on the same hours as the shop: until 18:30 early in the week and until 20:00 from Thursday, which is late for a tea shop anywhere. The house also runs evening events and seminars in the room upstairs, and keeps a Teewissen section on its site explaining how the families are classified and how to brew several of them. It sells and ships only within Switzerland, with free shipping above CHF 100.

The one worth the trip
Moonlight Teacake Bio

An organic Moonlight white pressed into a 357 g cake — the classic pu-erh format applied to white tea, and one of only two compressed teas here, next to the mini tuo cha. It is also the single dearest item on the list, which is a good reason to see it in the hand before buying. Ask upstairs and you can sit down with a cup of it first.
