Sinfonía – Té seleccionado

Sinfonía is a house of blends, not of single origins. The list was designed by Mónica Devoto, a tea sommelier who trained in Argentina and is also the author of a book on tea that the shop sells over the counter. Seven of the blends she presented when the brand launched in 2016 are still in the catalogue, Secretos de Aída and Earl Grey Selection among them, which is unusual in a business where the range is normally rewritten every couple of years.

The default format is an 80 g tin, which the shop says makes about forty cups. Around it there are smaller ways in: tubes of 12 to 18 g, boxes of twenty-five 2 g pyramids, and kraft bags of 25, 50 and 100 g. The catalogue lists about thirty teas and infusions, filed by type — white, yellow, green, matcha, oolong, black, pu-erh, rooibos, herbals — plus an olive-leaf line the house developed with the Facultad de Química of the Universidad de la República.

The Arocena shop is the only one the house owns: its teas also reach 127 listed points of sale across ten departments, from cafés and restaurants to the airport free shop, but this is the one counter where the whole range sits together. Pickup on online orders is free here, and the shop ships across the country. Devoto also runs tastings and training, and has taught the introductory tea course at the Instituto Turístico Hotelero del Uruguay since 2018.
