Infinitea
A Cunningham Road tea room established in 2003 by a self-styled Chef du Tea, with its own Darjeeling garden in the Mirik valley and every tea sold in one 100 g pack.
One pack size for everything turns the price list into a ranking. Read it top to bottom and you have the house's own opinion of its teas.
Infinitea was established in Bengaluru in 2003 by Gaurav Saria, who signs the site as "Chef du Tea" — connoisseur, gastronome, tea master — and the place is built in his image: a tea room with a kitchen and a retail store in the Shah Sultan Complex on Cunningham Road, in the central Vasanth Nagar area, with a second outlet in Indiranagar. Both open every day from 9:00 to 18:00, which makes this a breakfast tea room as much as an afternoon one.
What sets it apart from the other tea rooms in the city is the garden. The site ties the brand to Gopaldhara, a Darjeeling estate in the Mirik valley at close to 7,000 feet, and the Darjeeling shelf is where the range is deepest: a Muscatel, a First Flush Wonder, a green Emerald and a Silver Needles white all from the same hills. Around them sit more than fifty loose teas from elsewhere — a China sencha, jasmine pearls, genmaicha, a Japanese gyokuro, a ginseng oolong — plus kombucha, samplers and a corporate gifting line.
Every tea comes in a single 100 g pack, so the price list reads like a ladder: an Earl Grey and a CTC masala chai at the bottom, an Assam Orthodox two rungs up, the Darjeeling Muscatel and the China sencha in the middle, and the gyokuro and the silver needles at the top at twenty times the price of the chai. That is the most honest shelf in Bengaluru — it tells you exactly how much the house thinks each leaf is worth, and lets you climb one rung at a time.

What to buy here
Darjeeling
Darjeeling Muscatel
₹ 1,200 · 100 g
The Darjeeling Muscatel is the house tea in the plainest sense: a second-flush style from the hills the brand calls its own. Drink it black, in the tea room first, then take the 100 g pack home and brew it lighter than you think.
See our page on this tea →Assam
Assam Orthodox
₹ 300 · 100 g
A whole-leaf Assam at a fraction of the Darjeeling's price, and the pack to buy for the everyday milk tea. Orthodox rather than CTC means the leaf is rolled, not crushed, so the cup is rounder and less bitter than the chai grade on the shelf below it.
See our page on this tea →Sencha
Organic China Sencha
₹ 1,500 · 100 g
The organic China sencha is the green to buy here if the Japanese gyokuro is a step too far: same style of steamed leaf, half the price, and a forgiving cup for someone learning to keep the water off the boil.

The one worth the trip
Darjeeling Silver Needles
₹ 3,000 · 100 g
Darjeeling Silver Needles, a white tea of buds only, from a house that sells it by the same 100 g pack as everything else. It is the top of the ladder and the tea to sit down with in the room on Cunningham Road: pale, sweet, and nothing like the blacks the region is known for.
