Bengaluru drinks more coffee than tea by tradition, and its tea scene is mostly chai cafes and counters inside supermarkets. Two real tea shops with their own doors are worth the trip: Sancha, the Delhi boutique chain that has three Bengaluru stores — on Lavelle Road downtown and in the Phoenix malls in Hebbal and on Whitefield Road — where every visit starts with a free tasting in china cups; and Infinitea, a tea room founded in the city in 2003 on Cunningham Road, with a second outlet in Indiranagar and a Darjeeling garden of its own in the Mirik valley. Between them the shelves run from a 150 ₹ Earl Grey to a 3.000 ₹ gyokuro, all in 50 g or 100 g packs. Teabox, which ships from Siliguri, covers the estate-specific Darjeeling and Nilgiri leaf nobody in town stocks.

    The Bengaluru boutiques of the Delhi tea house that began as Aap Ki Pasand in 1981 and now runs fifteen stores across India. Three addresses here: the ground floor of Lavelle Regency on Lavelle Road, and counters in Phoenix Mall of Asia in Hebbal and Phoenix Marketcity on Whitefield Road. The house rule is a complimentary tasting served in china, no purchase required, with staff who walk you through origin and brewing. Around a hundred teas: a second-flush 2026 Darjeeling at 800 ₹ the 100 g, a Wuyi oolong at 650 ₹ the 50 g, jasmine dragon pearls at 899 ₹, silver-needle white from 600 ₹ the 25 g, and an Original Masala Chai at 400 ₹ the 100 g. Open seven days a week at all three.

    A tea room with a kitchen and a retail counter, established in Bengaluru in 2003 by Gaurav Saria, who signs as the house's "Chef du Tea". The main address is Shah Sultan Complex on Cunningham Road, with a second outlet in Indiranagar, and the brand is tied to the Gopaldhara garden in Darjeeling's Mirik valley. Everything is sold in a single 100 g pack, which makes the price list unusually easy to compare: an Assam Orthodox at 300 ₹, an Earl Grey at 150 ₹, a Darjeeling Muscatel at 1.200 ₹, an organic China sencha at 1.500 ₹, a ginseng oolong at 2.400 ₹ and Darjeeling silver needles at 3.000 ₹. Open every day from 9:00 to 18:00.
