Yourdailyteacup is the tea shop of Rensina Steursma, tea sommelier and founder, at Nieuwe Ebbingestraat 19, just north of Groningen's canal ring. The company describes itself as having two real tea shops, this one and a second at Ruiterskwartier 127 in Leeuwarden, and it sells the same range online from ydtc.nl. The organic part of the range is certified by SKAL under the NL-BIO-01 code, and the teas are packed in resealable bags that keep the aroma in.
The catalogue runs to around 150 loose teas and matchas, and most are sold in 50, 100, 250 and 500 g, with 25, 50, 125 and 250 g for the finer leaves such as the Darjeeling Seeyok first flush and the Pai Mu Tan. The organic line covers the classics, from English Breakfast, Earl Grey and an Assam Satrupa to Sencha, China Jasmine, Da Hong Pao, a basic-grade matcha in a 30 g tin, Masala Chai and a ripe pu-erh, with a Lapsang Souchong and a Tie Guan Yin among the conventional teas.
Beyond the shop, the company runs a tea course called Basis van Thee, six modules for €195 booked through its workshop site, and supplies shops, cafés and restaurants through a separate trade account on the webshop. Online orders ship for €5.95 and free from €50, and the Leeuwarden shop at Ruiterskwartier 127 carries the same range for anyone on the other side of the province border.
