A fourth-generation Oldenburg family business since 1920 that roasts its own coffee and sells loose teas by the 100 g, from a 5,50 € Ceylon to a 2025 Kagoshima sencha.
The coffee roaster is the reason the shop exists; the tea wall is the reason to go on a Saturday morning, when the whole of Lange Straße is doing the same.
Nölker & Nölker tells its history on its own site: what began in 1920 with Eilert Heinemann in Oldenburg is run today by Danja and Hendrik Nölker in the fourth generation. The shop is at Lange Straße 37, in the pedestrian heart of the city, open Monday to Saturday 9:30–18:00, and the business roasts its own coffee in Oldenburg in a drum roaster. Around the coffee it keeps a large selection of loose teas from around the world, gift baskets, regional specialities and tableware, blends tea and coffee under private label for other businesses, and runs tea and coffee seminars it calls experiences.
Everything is priced per 100 g, with 250 g packs behind most teas and 50 g or 1 kg options on some. The black shelf is where East Frisian habits show: Ceylon Orange Pekoe, Keemun Congou and a Türkischer Tee at 5,50 €, Earl Grey's Blend and English Breakfast at 7,00 €, Lapsang Souchong at 9,00 €, and Assam TGFOP and a Darjeeling second flush TGFOP at 9,80 €. The greens run from a jasmine tea with blossoms at 5,50 € to a Japan Sencha from Kagoshima, 2025 harvest, at 12,00 €, and a Nishio matcha at 44,95 € for 30 g.
The oolongs and the white tea share one price, 9,00 € per 100 g: a China Milky Oolong, a Tit Koon Yum, the shop's spelling of Tie Guan Yin, and Pai Muh Tan, the white peony. Chamomile blossoms are 6,00 € for 100 g. The listing pages show the 100 g price as a starting price and the product page states the regular price and the pack size, so what is on the shelf and what is on the screen match.
