Churchill's Fine Teas was born in Cincinnati and, by its own account, has been founded, owned and operated by women immigrants for more than 23 years, with 12+ years of 'Best of Cincinnati' awards along the way. It runs two shops in the city. The Findlay Market stall at 122 West Elder Street sits inside Ohio's oldest public market in Over-the-Rhine; the main shop moved on 29 March 2026 to 6709 Madison Road in Madisonville, with its own driveway parking. Both keep Garden and Market season hours through early November.
The catalogue is 285+ loose teas, everything sold from 1 oz with 2 oz and 4 oz sizes above it. The purist shelf covers the classics at low prices: Earl Grey Classic and Lover's Leap Ceylon from Nuwara Eliya at $4.55, English Breakfast Classic $4.75, Margaret's Hope Darjeeling, Sencha Dragon and Ti Kuan Yin oolong $5.25, Assam Estate $5.75, Dragonwell and Pai Mu Tan $7.95, Jasmine Pearls $10.25 and Izu Green Matcha $12.55. Above them sit first-flush Alishan oolongs and honey blacks from Taiwan, Silver Tips white and Imperial Panda Pearls.
The other half of the shop is blends and events. House blends carry local names such as Hot Cincinnati Spice, Findlay Market Fresh and a Taft Museum of Art black tea, and a 25-day tea advent calendar returns for 2026. The shops host private guided tastings for small groups, tea parties for celebrations, corporate tea events and a speaker series on tea history. Online orders ship nationwide, free over $80, and a rewards programme gives points back to repeat buyers. Teaware, honey and rock sugar fill the rest of the shelves.

The one worth the trip
Ti Kuan Yin Oolong Tea

Ti Kuan Yin is the rolled Anxi oolong that opens over three or four steeps, and this shop lists it at the same price as its Darjeeling, which is rare. Buy the ounce, take it to the Findlay Market stall on a Saturday morning and ask about the first-flush Alishan next to it: the two together explain what oolong covers.
