Cincinnati's loose-leaf tea lives in one block of Over-the-Rhine: Findlay Market, Ohio's oldest public market, holds a 285-tea specialist shop with 23+ years behind it, a spice merchant trading since 2005 that sells its teas by the ounce, and, on Elm Street next door, a monster-themed tea company founded in 2013 that runs a tea bar. The specialist has a second, larger shop in Madisonville on the east side. The former Oakley tea house Essencha no longer trades from a shop, and the rest of the region's tea rooms sit across the river in Kentucky or in the northern suburbs.
