Two Paris tea houses with counters across the city. Mariage Frères, founded in 1854, has sold over the counter in the Marais since 1984 and now runs seven counters, with tea rooms in the Marais and at Étoile and tasting workshops on rue Cler; its loose teas go by weight, mostly from 100 g. Kusmi Tea, founded in St Petersburg in 1867 and in Paris since the Russian Revolution, has eight boutiques, from avenue de l'Opéra to the big railway stations, with flavoured blends such as Anastasia beside plain teas sold loose by the 100 g.
