Tee & Tee keeps a shop at Froschaugasse 20, in the lanes of the Niederdorf, inside Zürich's old town. Franziska took the shop over in June 2019, and Tamara joined her in January 2024; both say their interest in tea started in their teens, and they spend part of the year on herb courses and tea training. Between bought-in teas and the blends they make themselves, the range now runs past 230 kinds, with a large share of it organic.
The format splits by category. Loose herbs and the scarcer leaves come in 50 g — chamomile, peppermint, lemongrass, lime blossom, lemon balm, a Pai Mu Tan white and the yellow Kekecha — while blacks, greens, rooibos and chai are priced by 100 g, and the Uji matcha arrives in a 30 g tin. The black shelf starts at an Assam leaf blend and climbs through Keemun and Darjeeling Himalaja to Lapsang Souchong and Earl Grey Premium; the two oolongs, a Ti Kuan Yin and a Butterfly of Taiwan, sit near the top of the list.
Around the leaf there are tea samples, up to six an order at CHF 1.90 each, house blends, gift sets and vouchers, tea tins, strainers and handmade pieces, plus an organic range that doubles most of the categories. Loose mate, a rooibos chai and a green chai fill out the spiced and caffeine-free end. The shop opens Tuesday to Saturday, shuts earliest on Saturday afternoon, and sells the same range online in German, English and French.

The one worth the trip
Gelbtee China Kekecha

Kekecha is a yellow tea, the smallest of the six families and the one that rarely leaves China, and it is the only tea on this shelf that is none of black, green, white, oolong or pu-erh. It comes in 50 g, priced between the greens and the oolongs. If you are walking into the Niederdorf for one tin, make it this one.
