Dubai's loose-leaf shopping happens in two kinds of places: a merchant's shop in Al Barsha (Cantata) and mall counters from Festival City to the Palm (Tealand, TWG Tea). Between them they cover Chinese and Taiwanese oolongs, Japanese greens, pu-erh cakes, yellow tea and yerba mate, all priced in dirhams by the 50 or 100 g, and Spinneys supermarkets keep the Twinings boxes for the office kettle.
