Our favorite tea shops in Los Angeles

2 places we'd send a friend to.

Los Angeles is a city of tea rooms rather than tea counters, and both of the shops on this page are in Little Tokyo, a block apart. The longest-running one grew from a small room near La Cienega in 1990 into four salons across the metro area and sells a long list of Chinese, Indian and Japanese teas by the 4 oz; the other is a matcha café and green tea shop that stocks Japanese teas from Yame, in 100 g packs and tea bags. Prices on this page run from US$ 9.88 for 4 oz of English Breakfast to US$ 57.38 for 4 oz of jasmine pearls.
