Our favorite tea shops in Sacramento
6 places we'd send a friend to.
Sacramento's loose leaf is spread across its neighbourhoods rather than gathered downtown: a tea house on the R Street corridor that has stocked more than 150 teas since 1998, a café on Broadway in Oak Park that sells its blends by the ounce and sets a weekly high tea, a coffee-and-tea house in Old Sacramento with its own loose line from 2 oz up, and a spice shop on J Street with some forty teas priced per ounce. Two coffee roasters round it out with tea pouches. Prices on this page run from US$ 4.50 for an ounce of organic sencha to US$ 35 for 7 oz of a Kyoto sencha.
