Our favorite tea shops in Taipei
3 places we'd send a friend to.
Taipei is the easiest place in the world to buy Taiwanese tea at the source: high-mountain oolongs from Alishan, Shanlinxi and Dayuling, Muzha Tieguanyin, Wenshan Baozhong from Pinglin, Oriental Beauty from Beipu and Miaoli, Ruby No. 18 black from Sun Moon Lake and Sanxia Bi Luo Chun green, sold in 35 g to 150 g packs and tins. The three houses on this page are a merchant founded in 1862 with six shops in the city, a Yongkang Street tea bar that sells only Taiwanese leaf, and a single-origin shop in the Minsheng Community. The 1842 and 1890 houses of Dadaocheng and Changchun Road sell over the counter only.
