San José is coffee country, and its tea runs through the Greater Metropolitan Area rather than the old centre: Sencha Tea Co. pours and sells its loose leaf at six Tea Bars in San Pedro, Curridabat, Escazú, Moravia and Santa Ana, while the Walmart and Mas x Menos branches of the province carry the Twinings, Bigelow, Mondaisa and Manza Té shelf. Prices below are in colones; Sencha prints its prices before the 13 % IVA that is added at checkout, and supermarket shelf prices include it.
