Hanoi's tea is Vietnamese tea. Near the Temple of Literature, a tea house that opened in 2016 sells its own black, green, oolong and white teas from ancient shan trees in 25 g packs and pours them at the table; the Old Quarter and eight other districts have a Thái Nguyên green-tea chain whose 100 g packs start at 34,560 ₫; and on the southern edge of the city, a producer with its own plots in Hà Giang sells shan snow tea by the 100 g. Nobody on this page sells Earl Grey or sencha, and that is the point.
