Jakarta buys its loose tea at four very different counters. In Glodok, the old Chinatown, a tea house and restaurant sells Fujian blacks, rock oolong and aged pu-erh from its own shop; in Kebayoran Baru, a blender names its teas after the worlds of Lewis and Carroll and sells them in 50 g and 500 g; in the malls along Thamrin and Sudirman, a Jakarta brand keeps counters inside The FoodHall, Galeries Lafayette and SOGO; and in Kemang, an organic single-estate grower from the Mount Halimun highlands has a counter inside a grocery. Prices on this page run from Rp 50,000 for 50 g of a house black to Rp 940,000 for 100 g of a 2015 Menghai shou pu-erh.
